When an application is installed, a return code can be send to SCCM client. SCCM let you determine how the client should react on the return codes. You can configured this setting on your application deployment type:
- Go to User Experience tab
- Select one of the values under Should Configuration Manager enforce specific behavior regardless of the application’s intended behavior?
The following options are available:
Options | Description |
Determine behavior based on return codes | This is the default option. The client will perform action depending on the return code. It means that you need to configure return codes in application properties. |
No specific action | This option will do nothing. And it will suppress a restart. |
The software install program might force a device restart | The computer might be restarted after installation succeed. |
Configuration Manager client will force a mandatory device restart | Computer will be restarted (mandatory) |
